i am sorry for being away from here for so long...................please i want you guys to forgive me


A poem for clemency

the reticence struck me across the face
like slap from the elders
it held in it the same unspoken words of reproach,
how does a prodigal strut homewards?
does he walk with his head tilted to hades?
or does he accept his fault and move on.......

........i will never know, for i carry the pain of unexperience
i have strayed far from the fountain of poets
i left my kindred without a word of farewell
and now my heart sinks in the mire of unsaid apologies

will i ever be accepted back into a place only we know?
will the tryst keep me inside its warm cuddle...
...or cast me back into the forlorn world of harsh realities?

my heart is laden with the burden of the prodigal man
accept me back,
and let the sun shine still
