I feel the cold water on my toes.
The waves of change are new to me
And only God above knows
What this will bring in the future,
What things from the past will be changed.
Everything is going to be different –
My whole life rearranged.
This sudden feeling is strange,
I've been left alone, deserted
By you who has no idea
Of how I feel inside – I'm hurting.
And now the waves are rough
And rambunctious as can be.
They're shouting that everything's changed,
You've gone away and left me –
A young girl by herself
To face the world alone.
I never thought you'd go so soon
And leave me on my own.
In my heart I know
That this is the right path for you.
But my life just can't adjust
To this feeling of new.
And now you go so far away,
But you go for the better.
Now look inside the envelope
And you'll find a loving letter.
The letter talks about my feelings,
Talks about all of my regrets.
But it also talks about how proud I am
Of you for being the best.
And even though you leave me,
Even though everything will change,
I know you go with love for me,
So I look forward to life rearranged.
So as I sit on the shore
And feel the cold water on my toes,
Our lives head in different directions
And I can't wait to know
What things will be different,
What things will be strange.
So I plunge headfirst
Into the waves of change.

The Waves of Change
The waves slowly wash over me,I feel the cold water on my toes.
The waves of change are new to me
And only God above knows
What this will bring in the future,
What things from the past will be changed.
