ashes to ashes...

where do i go and what do i say
for life has left me empty of movement and mute
i am not a queen, nor rose, nor woman
i am this inside out, torn apart ash
that is left dampened and immobile
by the rain of tears falling from those eyes
that once were mine when i was whole.
now, i will wait until the air dries me and I float again
upon the breeze or memories. perhaps then
i will find the rest of me and unite once again in
the flames that will burn the mind, the thoughts,
the heart of me until i am no more.

maybe then i will be whole.

Sorrow shared is especially beautiful and we must share each other's burdens or how else could we bear what happens in this doleful world? Hold to the small good things and keep the faith. A beautiful poem, Kathy. Truly.

This is so dense of sorrow, and nevertheless so beautiful...

Dear Kathy, well done. This is my response poem inspired by your own.

You go nowhere and you say nothing
You ride the river of grief in silent grief
You are the branch that is tossed from
Bank to raging river of tears that must depart
your sorrow filled eyes that once beheld
a wholesome love and heart.
Treading water is our only hope
Allow the debris of the now to clear
A path to your most treasured loving memories
Of before you were apart.
His poetry will restore your soul,
Hold you in his warmest embrace.
Love you back to whole.

Kinna
thank you for this text. It's rhytmic and goes straight to the heart.

Kathy, this poem is heartbreakingly beautiful. I grieve for you and for everyone who knew Michael, and I know someday you and he will be reunited again.
