Written for my son Tod and some of his school buddies

Boys of New Rochelle

Pre-teens, full of vim
Would cut class to get to gym
All those jocks of Davis School
Believed they acted very cool

To name a few, Barry, Ronny, Tod and Matt
The coolest of all the Davis School cats
Included was Peter, in his perpetual slump
Who tried so hard to get over that hump

Champs all at bowling, basket and baseball
Some even pros in cool poolroom cue-ball
Didn't think much of girls, sports was their thing
But hormones soon changed and they started to swing

Now they're all in their fifties, as time marched on
No longer can every day act like Don Juan
So now on the weekends, they golf fairly well
Those fiftyish old boys of old New Rochelle....

This did make me smile Stan, one of my sons is, what I would presume you would call a jock, though he's just got into med school and I guess things will start to change lol

So glad your muse is back. I saw this in my minds eye as you vividly and so expertly describe the transition from youth to -well, golf. Still very much a sport for all ages. : ) kathy
