dancer's parade

Tonight we took a break
From delving so deeply into one another's shared attraction
As to formulate a conversation of terribly interesting proportions
And so we chatted:
You, legs askew hugging my sofa pillow
While I sat casually beside you
Both smiling the same
Both talking about the same thing
Both having sporadic yet extremely different thoughts from the various matters at hand
And so we danced, conversationally that is
Through grand ballrooms of unspokens
Elaborate halls of the subtle
And paid no mind to that which laid, unsaid yet kicking
Closed tightly behind each uttered thought
And we enjoy this parlay
This not so aggravating display
Of continued concoctions
Of ways to step around our proverbial pink elephant
And so we danced
Conversationally that is
Following each other's steps to perfection
In this immobile waltz of whatever this may be
That we're neither ready to experience
So we just kept dancing
Into the wee hours
And ended, as all professional dancers do
With a brief kiss over joined hands
And you danced away
As did i
Into another night not shared

Avoiding the important stuff of relationships, is a big mistake and you deal with it and it's implications, with impish and peckable panache here David....we do lead a merry dance indeed, but only, as you state towards the end, because neither are ready for something more meaningful and deeper. It's a love, lust and a trust thing....you need all three in my experience. Good to read you again. Smiling at you, Tai
