IF I WERE TO LOSE MY MIND

If you read this I have lost my mind
You'll find me in an asylum of some kind
Please, don't try to find what's left of me
I'm in a hell of a shape you see

Losing your mind isn't all that bad
It might be the richest experience I've ever had
A hell of a shape is better than no shape at all
If you open the chest of truth you'll fall

It's the way back that's hard, that's a tricky slope
Razors, pills, gun or rope
Hang in there they say, just a mile or two to go
Easy for them to say, I can only do a slow tiptoe

Don't worry my love, I'll be back some day
As good as new, in every possible way
We'll dance again, and laugh and cry
And then you'll find truth in the corner of my eye
