just bored and uninspired; maybe i should just retire and try and stoke the fire that once was of poetic use when inflamed by my wayward muse.

number nonsense

donuts come in a dozen
and solos are 1 alone
10 represents perfection
while 2 make a duet song
4 and 4 make 8
and 9 and 7, 16
3 is a balanced number
and 0 is never seen
6 times 2 is 12
and a dozen is just the same
so can someone tell me please
why Dozen is 12's  name?

A great question ending a clever number poem which is lots of fun to read. Sounds like some may have ligetimate answers for you. Why is a baker's dozen 13? Is the extra one for the baker to eat or just in case one isn't perfect and needs replacing?

"i'm one but inside i feel two,
one is my soul the other is you,
i asked the same question hundred times,
nothing answered back expect the three chimes,
i tried to find ONE answer for why?
but things let me down and made me cry,
number 12 is ONE and TWO,
it was one but now it's few,
see the number 12 resembles me,
as i am one but frankly there is two..."

with best wishes

I forgot to mention that it probably comes from the latin word for twelve: duodecim
