I had a nice summer, but it didn't last into the fall. Just reflecting on the beautiful walks and talks we had, and closing the chapter, yknow? Anyhow thought y'all might like to read it.

Summer Kiss

A kiss is all I ask for,
in summer it was freedom and warm attraction
my day was lived for that singular time
of our kiss
how the magnetic pull of decency
of restraint
it made it all the more, such treasure.
Our worries were small, our time together was limitless
will I ever get it back?
Maybe not with you, but will I ever find the understanding?
The simplicity?
I do not fret about it, no.
But I think back
and the warm summer breeze and the whisper of the trees
they stir me, and once again I feel your lips touch mine
with care.
