Lying to Yourself (III)

All you have to do is lie, and
All your problems go away and
All is not lost from my world

I can't handle the truth
I will not carry on with this terrible trick
I just need to convince myself it isn't happening

It is really quite easy
It doesn't take much to do
It just requires a few small alterations

Could I leave truth and be hopeful?
Could the lies be much harder?
Could this guise hurt much more?

Lying is easy though, and
Lying is the undisputed truth
Lying is what makes me function

So I will lie to keep going
So I will deceive myself in this way
So that I don't have to deal with what I truly feel
