Eventually...even the strongest among us turn to stone...

Winter's Toll

Bitter is the wind that blows
Through trees this winter's night
And harsh the snow that stings quite so
And leaves her icy bite
Frigid is the air around me
Chilling to the bone
And if I stay here very long
I'll surely freeze to stone

That I may feel no peace of mind
Is such the state I'm in
And yet, if you dare look...you'll find
I've not committed sin
So surely is my fate in life
To feel no warmth this day
My heart...it has been frozen
This is the price I pay
