Don't Forget

Alone is not forever;
it surely cannot last.
One day I will sever
the ties that bind me fast.

It surely cannot last--
I know the day will come.
The ties that bind me fast
will fall from me, undone.

I know the day will come.
The ache around my heart
will fall from me, undone
and a lifelong joy will start.

The ache around my heart?
This I am certain of:
a lifelong joy will start
and break my pain with love.

This I am certain of:
one day I will sever
and break my pain with love.
Alone is not forever.
