there's nothing like
the words that flow
between our eyes
from lips and mouths
that kiss the night
out of our fears

there's nothing like
the tears you cry
down sculpted cheeks
while I stand by
as you do to
when I feel this way

there's nothing like
the dream of knowing
the safety of feeling
our naked bodies
pure and warm
falling into slumber

there's nothing like
your gentle fingers
that travel down
the marks of life
part of the grey
you love of me

there's nothing like
your humaness
which shows me how
to lose my stance
and love the grey
of you

there's nothing like
your smiling eyes
the casual nod
or an eyebrow raised
that says you know
leaves out the words
I'm writing now
trying to define
what there's nothing like

there's nothing like you
