Blackpool town council has launched an internet campaign to attract French tourists to the resort.

Belle Blackpool

Welcome to breezy Blackpool
Where the weather is cool,
And the nightlife is too,
Sequined singers and comics true
Will serenade and tickle you,
And our famous Golden Mile
Is sure to make you smile,
With its soothing sands
And booming live bands,
And the kids will delight
In flying their kite
On winds from the Irish Sea,
Watch their faces light up
As you take a cup of English tea,
The perfect drink with fish and chips,
A local delicacy for discerning lips,
And while you relax under sunny skies
Consider the wonders before your eyes;
High tides that would inspire Monet,
Tram rides that will take you far,
Postcards of views saucy and bonny,
Seaside shows that would lure Degas,
And how can we forget our ferrous flower,
The one and only Blackpool Tower,
A truly entertaining pleasuredome,
And as it's based on the Eiffel Tower,
You'll feel Blackpool is home from home!
