Different angles.

[Different angels.]

when she walks

when she walks
her timid cautious motions strike
protectiveness into the soul

you want to help her
to take her arm and
walk with her

her hair is a work of red-gold wonder
her smile is sweet and uncertain
yet also brimming with mischievous fun

if only the distance could be bridged
if through the silence and the awkwardness
a shimmering bond could be formed

what a union that would be
earth and air and fire and water
all together as one

beauty and grace would reign
rhyme and reason together
sweetness and serenity and song

but until that glorious day
until interest overcomes shy smiles
you'll just have to admire her from afar
