I have used a line[which I've *]
from Adrian G's poem as that is what prompted
me to write this. I hope he doesn't mind, but please
be aware the love in poetry line is not mine, it
is Adrian's.

Splinter Remover I Am[For Adrian G]

I ache for you
in those words uttered,
I cry for the
anguish in your soul,

"Where is love
in poetry?"*

I can see
your shy centre
and I want
to hug it better

your love in poetry won't
be smashed against rocks
as I am the guiding,
life-saving lighthouse
but I wish I could protect you
from all of Life's hard knocks.

You are a strong gentle willow
and I'll remove the splinters as they come,
do not worry if you're in rain
as I am your drying, friendly sun.

*A quoted line from a wonderful poem by Adrian Glasgow,
I hope he does not mind.
