Little Visitor

Your son came over to play today
He looks so much like you
I can hear them laughing a room away
Bringing memories anew

It's been a year now since it ended
I still sit and wonder why
Between our children, bridges mended
But their giggles make me sigh

When he smiles I see your face
Tearing at my heart
The kids are asking for a sleepover
Why are we still apart?

Our little family untraditional
What is a normal family then?
The kids love unconditional
Why can't we learn from them?

Hi Purp...

We surely can learn much for kids...but then again, they
grow up and become as dumb as us

good write

Lovely poem, full of wise words.

I especially like this line:
"What is a normal family then?"
...although I doubt that anybody knows the answer to that :-p
