Dreams can surprise you....

Queen of the Castle

Aftershave in my nostrils
Your voice urgent in my ear
Breathing heavy on my neck
Hands searching in the dark
Backs arched in anticipation
Confusion, desire, disgust,
A sinking feeling of defeat
Remembering the pain you dealt
It's wrong, it's all wrong....

I wake clutching the sheets
Perspiring, gasping for air
Then I realise you're not there
My self betrayal leaves me
Relief sets in as I stretch out
Owning every corner of my bed
The Queen of my own castle
A smile steals across my face
You don't own me anymore

Rob Graber
A great write, its depiction of relief made compelling by the open admission of, and confrontation with, deep ambivalence (desire/disgust of line 6)...
