America is on a path to ruin if we do not return to the foundation our forefathers laid. Above all, this nation was built with God's blessings because this nation honored Him. As a country, this is no longer true. I grieve for America the Beautiful, as I

Whats Happened To My Country

What have they done to my country?
No statesmen can be found.
Instead like rats in sewers
polititions now abound.

What of our constitution?
It's been compromised, distorted and scorned
and the death of its true meaning
will be far too late, morned.

We have elected rulers
to take care of all we need
The consequences being
ruled people who are not free

Shed of responsibility
regulations now abound
to insure a kept people
will acquiesce to those they've crowned

The heart of America past
was strong, courageous and free
It beat with many voices
united in liberty

They came from every nation
by God's hand guided here
to form a more perfect Union
based on values they held dear

They worked with great ambition
in a country where they could choose
how to live their lives
without fear of abuse

They built a great nation
with a heart for all to see
And under God's blessings
went out a great decree

Come to this land
you are welcome here
free to make a life
free of opression and fear

Worship your own way
no earthly king to bow to
If you've a desire to chase a dream
this country will allow you

The minds and hearts of old
first prayed and then they planned
and left a God blessed legacy
that shaped this mighty land

Now a patriot is mocked
the constitution cannibalized
Common sense has no influence
Faith in God is euthanized

The pillars of my country tremble
on a compromized foundation
And if Americans do not seek God
He will no longer bless this nation

AMEN! This is also how I feel about this country, and the politicians lining their own pockets. That is after all what they are up there for and the country comes second. I don't believe they would admit that and am sure they would swear that they are the most patriotic people you would ever find. Obama's wife said when he was running that she didn't think much of her country until he was elected. Now she says I love my country--Well she had to change. Who would want a first lady that didn't love the country? Great work Phyllis! I love this, but I better go before I get on a soapbox. Thanks for poxting. Damon

John Lambremont, Sr.
Very gripping, I like.

It's the 2-party system that's a big part of the problem. We need more and viable choices.

I like this poem, for it expresses what I believe as well. I did not support those now in office or their political agendas and I worry that our country may never recover......and this nightmare is just beginning.
