What I mean


when I say I love you
it means:
I want the light of your soul to burn
your smile to caress the eyes of a million children
the parents and caregivers
the religious
and the disbelievers
the misperceivers
and the grievers

when I say I love you
I don't mean:
to take that away from you
because you have that capacity
and it is not abundant
in a world that is falling apart
and coming together
at the same time

why would I take that away from you
at this point of delicate balance
my love for you seeks not to own
only to bless
your path
mine
and the whole of humanity's

Purple Phoenix
So often those three little words are misused, or taken as a from of ownership. If only we all loved ourselves enough to take anothers love as a blessing, and move through our lives just comfortably knowing people care for us without a "catch".
