Now it's time to sleep, my friend!

Now it's time to sleep, my friend.
Let's heal the things that cannot bend.
Our time is up, it's time to go.
Hush, my love, tip tip toe.

I'll tuck you in, soft soft cloud.
Let's leave this world, mad and loud.
We'll find a place to rest our bones.
We need a rest to muffle our moans.

This meadow of grass, humble and blue.
This heaven of songs, carrying us through.
This tree without roots, free as a bird.
This sea in thy womb, warm and mothered.

So close your eyes and go back to the start.
Close the circle - you don't have to part.
Let's heal the things that cannot bend.
It's time to sleep, my beloved friend.

Morpheus
Such a beautiful poem, with such loving thoughts. I particularly liked the line:

"We need a rest to muffle our moans."

How true that is...
