I Dream




When on my bed I lay sleeping
Your face I see so perfectly
The closeness of your breath
Rising softly gently
In rhythm with my beating heart
It is then I know our souls are one
You on distant shore
I on this peaceful island
And in my dreams I hold you near
As peacefulness washes over me
I slip into the sleep of angels
Deeply cast into an ocean of slumber
Teeming with endless possibilities
I swim toward the beauty of your love
And marvel at this pearl
This dreamworld lies unaffected
By the struggles of this earth
Dark and secret to our hearts
Untouched by this world's care
I dream, I dream
