I tend to write free verse, simply letting the thoughts flow free from my spirit, to my mind, from my mind to my pen...

Do You Know How Much?

I heard him
As I slept last night.
I heard poet's lips
Touch the ivory parchment of
Poetess' face... and kiss.
I felt him as his mind
Crept over me... his psyche
Spanned across miles and
Touched me... felt the breath
Of supplicated whispers
Wheezed upon my naked soul...

"Do you know how much I
....love you?" he asked me...

He wrote litanies of ecstasy
'pon poetess' sleeping body...
He licked inhibitions with
Powerfully passionate alliteration...
Smeared the ink of intimacy
Across past hurts ... turning
Yesterday's transgressions...
Into today's masterpieces...
He left me breathless in this love...
Struggling for oxygen in the midst of
Slumber... he stole beats of my heart
As my emotions palpitated for he...
And he whispered to me...

"Do you know much I
...love you?"

He took small pallid feet into
Strong brown hands... repeating
The same words... he massaged
The secretions of his very own
Salivary glands into the soles...
Reaching to my soul... he whispered...

"You've come so far...
Your soul is tired.
You've come so far...
Your soul is tired.
You've come so far...
Your soul is tired."

...and then...

He looked into my eyes...
Asking again...

"Do you know how much I
...love you?"

And I cried...
Years of tears purging
The spirits of past lovers
Surging... the energy of
Gods and Goddesses...
I felt the love of ages and ages
Electrifying through veins and
Tissues... white light auras
Permeating as he
Gripped child bearing hips...

Lips kissing womb through
Stretch-marked flesh...

He whispered again...
Lips brushing navel...

"Do you know how much I
...love you?"

Penetration passionately...
Sweet hisses of love's history
Escaping me... felt the semenic fluids
Of Nietzche and Thoreau
Flowing into me as he entered me
Felt conception of genius as
Wisdom meets femininity ...
Faith baptizes destiny...
I felt love's child forming
Inside of me...

Love's lips pressed to
Sweat adorned forehead...
Tasting the fruits of this
Labored love....I felt him...
He kissed my face....
Kissed lids of hazel eyes...
Tip of perspiration dripping nose...
Planted lips of enlightenment
Upon each dimple... and left
Impressions of his affectation
In each small indentation...

...and I whispered...

"I know how much you love me...
For I feel you take my breath away
Each time thoughts of me
Leave you breathless....
I hear you smiling when
This heart of mine
Sings this love song for you...
The lyrics of which your pen
Scribed upon my soul
Long before I ever met you...
I know how much you love me...
Because I know how much I love you...
Loving you like I love breathing...
Loving you like I love poetry...
Loving you enough to
Trust you
Trust you
Trust
In
You
In an untrustworthy world...
For I am you...

You are me...

We are one...

And that is how
I know how much you love me...
Because I know
How much I love you..."

And this morning...
I awoke...
Eyes fluttering open...
And like clock work...

The phone began ringing...

And it was he...

And I heard his smile...
Singing...
Harmonizing with my heart....

As he said:

"Good morning, Precious...
Do you know...how much I love you?"
