vapour trails

Lost in vapour trails of thoughts
trapped inside the solitude of the day
seeing words of wisdom
some obtuse
some meant to come my way
forgotten all I've forgot
skipping the surface of what remains
playing poker with the future
in a subtly different way
waiting for that winning hand
to stand tall amongst the crowd
just lost in vapour trails of thoughts
wandering lonely like a poet
searching for his cloud.

I especially like the phrase "forgotten all I have forgot." Kind of koan-like. Also like the subtle reference to Wordsworth's fabulous I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud.

Nice work.

Stunningly serene poem rik...I was there in Wordworths trails for a moment. The rhythm and rhyme in this gorgeous little poem is simply divine...'I wandered lonely as a cloud'

my very first touch of poetry, learned by heart at four years old. Seems to have stuck with me, that cloud! It has been a long journey since then, it is not quite as fluffy anymore. I suppose that is life. We live and learn as we wander.

Brought a tear...how'd you do that then?

Smiling at you,

Tai

Good to read you again

Yes ! To live on an island of meringue, in a Styrofoam house, wearing cotton baton slippers....
I enjoyed this one a great deal.
Thanks, Nick
