do you poet

have u sipped poetry for once?
do you know it's taste ?
does it taste like a fresh wine?
do you lick your lips and enjoy the aftertaste?

do you share it round to friends and family?
do you entertain guests with it ?
do they say
" a good poem (wine) you served us friend " ?

do you woo hearts with it ?
do you broker peace with it?
do you campaign for justice with it?
do you minister at the pulpit with it ?
do you recite a verse to your creator every morning ?
do you poet?
do you?

I used to once, do some of these things, but I found I was largely alone in my love of poetry. I live in a barren wilderness, where culture, art of any sort, is just silly to most folks, including friends, neighbours, acqaintances, family. But here I can relax; enjoy beloved poetry of all sorts, and discuss the art with my poet friends without fear of alienation.

Yes I do poet, but discreetly. Nice title, and a thoroughly good first read.

Smiling at you

I really enjoyed reading this. I love the comparisons with food; really brings home the idea. Loved the open ending question.
