Try again

As life strikes me down for the millionth time
and my battlescars burn
and my muscles so tired from carrying my problems
I don't move
as it kicks

The pain searing and my lungs so out of breath
I am so close to disappearing

I reach out my fingers in one last try
whispering words of strength and love
so close to my heart

Softening the pain
healing my wounds

And though life keeps beating me
I slowly gather myself and move to stand

Whispering those words to gain strength to try again

As life beats me down again

John Ashleigh
No matter how sharp life is, you should always stand back up on your feet. Remember, the more you fall, the more you learn not to. I like this poem - you are talented, my friend.

Regards,
John.
