There is always light at the end of the tunnel. - 23rd November 2010.

Like a moon.

The glitter of thunder sparks
Over a bed of eternal dusk,
This flusters the orphan phantom
Into retreat, of which it must.

A polished moon blinks away
Spit solemn to the wise,
This frustrates the orphan phantom
Until no more does he lie.

Your words can conjure images in a readers mind so effectively.. An art difficult to master I would think..

One would think a phantom is by definition disconnected from the reality and interaction of day to day life... yet alone an orphaned phantom - now that is a powerful image. So many possiblities and tributaries of meaning and significance.

Much of our lives we work our way out of darkness...
from the womb to the alleys, from primeval forests to
the subway. It is good to know there is light like the moon
for moments of clarity before darkness ultimately swallows us up again. Thank you for sharing.

learnings
Reminds me of the saying, there is a crack in everything that's how the light gets in.

Your opening two lines conjure up such great visuals, we all have ghosts. I like the idea of a "polished" moon.
