Mysterious

As she looks in the mirror,
Who does she see?
Is she a stranger or
A person who she already met?

Who is this person?
What do her eyes say?
Does she have a smile,
Behind those red lips?

Trying to analyze her,
Not a single move.
Is she a puppet,
With hidden strings attached?

And for the last time,
Before looking away,
She looked deep into her eyes,
And it was all there.

A red tear rolled down her eyes,
Her position didn't move,
As she looked down, she gently closed her eyes
And wiped her tear with a smile.

John Ashleigh
You're good with dark art. A pleasure to read.

Regards,
John.

The title does the piece justice, loving the fourth stanza, then that last one, "and wiped her tear with a smile" I like that.

The form works . . . all the questions engage the reader and wonder if they will be answered, which the smile at the end does but in a cryptic way.
