Polypolar love

The cold grip of this realization is strangling me

You love me
oh, how you love me
and you need me
oh, how you need me

but you give her everything I wanted you to give me

Let me be angry
so I can protect myself
from you leaving me

Let me be angry
so I can blame you for a failed relationship
that also is my fault

Let me be angry
so I can guilt you into being with me
when I don't even know 100% whether I want you

A million different feelings and thoughts and memories plaguing my mind
jumping back and forth between extremes
tearing me through a million spaces each moment
one moment my veins crawl with ice cold hurt because you said something beautiful about her (and not me)
the other I am leaping across universes, forgetting all of myself to hold you and give you enough just to go on for another day

and in the end
all I can really be certain of is

I'd do anything for you
and our friendship

(God, I hope this isn't what breaks me)
