My song

As i sing the song of my life
i notice gaps
where your smile
should have been
and my tears fill the void
where your laughter
should have been.

...and as my head
rests softly on my pillow
the cold stabs at my heart
and reminds me
of all the memories
i will never see.

.. so now i just bumble along
traumatised by my fear of life
bound bleeding to its mast
haunted by a future
that never lived its past.

...and so
on the mountainside of my dreams
i slip down the face of all
that has never been
and fall silently
into the dawn.

...and here i wait
wait for an angel to take my hand
to guide me beyond my masquerade
to peel back the skin of my scars
and let the sun - shine on my heart.

As i sing the song of my life
i notice gaps
where your smile
should have been
and my tears fill the void
where your laughter
should have been.

As i sing the song of my life
i notice gaps
where my life

should have been.

The song is so lyricaly sweet. Though sad but very charming!

I find the heart of this poem to be quite tender and yet sad as it beats out a melody of loneliness. You have an all together unique way of penning the simplest of thoughts. This does have a lyrical quality...a heart song that resounds a cry of loss.
