Seen from a car window in passing

Boy Wonder

Dressed in rumpled jeans and outlandish jersey
Tussled hair and grass stained hi tops under rolled up pant legs
He is a study in concentration and serious business
The lawnmower whirrrrrs a Fisher Price song
as he runs in random fashion over newmown grass
his green stained shoes testimony to his calling today
Helping Daddy cut the lawn

You must have been looking over my shoulder when I was with my grandson yesterday . . . you captured that moment perfectly.

I remember being that boy and have seen quite a few others since then. Splendid picture poem! I can smell the grass and I can see clearly that facial expression of pure concentration.

You paint a picture so expressively. Thankyou for that.

John.
