Today I'm home alone ... a rare treat.

Alone today

The house
silent waiting
Breathing slow and easy
Creaking as the day's warmth pervades
Sounds heard meant for no one
A distant car a robin's trill
Sun though drawn curtains
highlights dust in places never seen before
The house reveals herself for what she is
Silent waiting warming caring

And the house was not alone 'today.' The beauty of a lived in and loved home in a splendid poem.
