a 1986 poem of friendship

Sharing Without Caring

Here I go once again,
writing now to my favorite friend,
just to say I am still near,
and hold our friendship so very dear.

It's not the way I'd want it now,
but I'm willing to see, somehow !
In hopes one day the Sun will shine,
and maybe, just maybe I'll make you mine.

But if not I'll stand by,
hold back feelings, try not to cry,
its just my heart, it pounds for you,
when your not around, I've nothing to do.

You see even friends can care a lot,
some more, some less, its in their thought,
and I care most of all,
that's why I'm so off the wall !
