Safe Distance
Harsh words and harsh truthsbut I can't deny the affection
the smile on my face
the delighted shiver down my back
when you subtly show me more of yourself
Promises of no promises, stone cold realities being clarified
but I know
the thought of me near you haunts your nights
you know
you're under my skin and that your words inspire me
This is not love
possibly friendship
definitely a joy of temporarily sharing each other's lives
from a distance
One day
one of us will no longer log on
