Given
He sees her standing thereon her own
Comes over
picks up her hand and gets caught in her smile
the depth in her eyes
For a second he believes everything he needs is here
in her hands
in her heart
in her bosom
Some days he stops with her hand
seeing the borders in her eyes
Some days he stops with her heart
sensing the discouragement in her body
One day he took everything
Because she so willingly gave it all
Today he stops before her heart
knowing that it is the only thing she cannot relinquish
- that she gives
only because he does not ask
