This is in protest--probably futile--against the conclusion that honesty and reality are inherently unromantic...

please do not trust me

please do not trust me
not to let you down
in little ways
because i will

and do not trust me
not to let you down
in a big way
because i may

please do not trust yourself
not to let me down
in little ways
because you will

and do not trust yourself
not to let me down
in a big way
because you may

though we will let each other down
i trust we trust that when we do
the one who does the letting down
will feel let down too

This is excellent! *LOVE* it, and words fail me beyond saying that. (applause)

I tend to believe that true love cannot survive without honesty and a contact with reality. and, as you have finely portrayed, love does has it's ups and downs.
I enjoy your juxtapositioning ;-)
thanks.

Not unromantic but certainly uncommon.
