Treasure lost

She was frantic
Near hysterical
running frenetically
everywhere
Looking

It was stolen
So smoothly
She hadn't noticed
its loss till
asked if
She had it

The loss
Devastating

The agonizing
Discovery

Stolen

Found
unattainable

The thief
Laughed

Her self esteem
Held ransom

To participation
in his life

Applause

Perhaps I might try this style myself, well copying is the best flattery

A very striking write, my friend.
Self-esteem is indeed a treasure and its lost is devastating. With a deft touch, you capture this excellently. The piece transports me to a time many years ago during a very difficult relationship. But enough about me!
Full marks for this one as it packs more than one punch; applause!
