The F150 is a venerable Ford pickup truck that is a fixture on farms throughout North America. Each winter the tire chains are put on to assist in traction and rocks or concrete blocks are loaded in the bed to add weight at the rear axle.

Winter Liturgy

Today the snow falls
In small sleeting particles that
form beads of alabaster
On the F150

A black altar
To a known god
sited in an orchard
cathedral

Waiting for the liturgy
To begin

The seasonal service
Chains rocks and lube

Sure been there and done that, digging the tow chain out of the barn, a bucket of sand, looking for where I last left the ice scraper. I was a GMC guy though. It seems now that years ago we had a lot more snow, sleet and ice, and a lot more fun.
