On your male island

I sense you're rooming on your male island these days
and I won't buy or rent a boat to get to you
neither will I build a bridge that threatens your much wanted privacy
in the cave of integrity I know you so fiercely guard.

You wouldn't be there if it weren't for the pain
and I know you'll stay there til' the coast is clear.
But you should know, my friend, that you can't close my eyes
for the simple reason that I've been there too.

' Not many a man became an island, unless someone else burnt his boat and bridges.'
Why must we always assume that the man himslef chose his solitariness? Becasue most commonly he does. But not always..' To be someone of whom such words were written is a noble and humbling experience.' Eucharisto!

Thoughtful, considerate, insightful, tolerant, and wise. Not bad attributes for one little poem.

Well done and best wishes,
