rental affection

she walks out of the motel

looking both ways crossing the street

moths

and night fliers orbiting

the street light solar system

he wipes himself off

mooching home

past the loud smirk

of the night-time receptionist

I would have loved to have written an essay on this poem back in my college days. There is much to say about poetry and life and writing.
