CYBER STRANGERS FRIENDS YET TO MEET

The world on line reseeves bad publicity

Thats right keeps the unwary safe makes

Unwary wary of dangers on line

But the cyber world can bring together

From near and far

Those from so far away together

As strangers are friends yet to meet

Good friendships made to last a life time

Some time and distance the prover

When words like a spiders web covers our world

Wrapping around an injured spirit some ones soul

Words gentle kind smoothing listening thinking

Words enlightening spreading understanding

People of this or that philosophy understanding

The others philosophy believes what ever they be

The ages learn from each other as all are teachers

The cyber world is bringing us closer together

And he politicians dont like all of that at all

Well said, Ken, and true. I'm grateful to be a part of PoetBay and some other places I visit because I have met wonderful people I'll almost certainly never be able to visit.

On the other hand, some parts of cyberworld, Facebook and Twitter, make me claustrophobic, as if I'd been jammed into a room full the sort of people I try hard to avoid in real life.

There is no doubt that the cyber world is everything you said (so eloquently) and more. How else would I have ever read the words of poet named Ken, or you the words of poet named jim?

The negatives and positives of the cyber world are well known, subtle, obvious, and it is here to stay (until the next technology arrives). For all of its benefits what saddens me about it more than anything is that it has led to the demise of the letter—the written letter that comes by mail or post in a stamped envelope, which comes at a snail's pace, and the anticipation which that waiting induces.

A poem of understanding and perspective. This is a very astute write. Thankyou for sharing, Ken. *applaud*

John.

Incredible.

They may not like it, but what can they do, ban it!?... Probably, actually...

There are some bad places on the net - When I started browsing I thought the worst places were chat rooms, and we hear so many reports of p0rn and predators.. But nowadays there seems to be no greater evil than 'Social Media' .. Hatred and mediocrity abound.

The positives I have found by careful selection far outweigh any negative influence, many, many times over.

The Bay is such a sanctuary for talented and creative people.
