I threw myself into those words
wrapped them around me and let them keep me warm and safe
They held me up when I couldn't feel you near me
and kept me believing
as I mixed my words with yours
kept me fighting for you
fiercely loyal to you
Even when you had in reality left me
but not in words
Words, beautiful lies
expressing true intentions, passionate wishes,
deep-felt hopes and far-fetched dreams
words that slowly erode away as they stay unfulfilled
whisked away in the wind
as though never said
a memory
mixed with false dreams
none of it ever turns out real
