LOVE AND ALL AND ALL

PART ONE

Love is a strange phenomenon

Love has many faces

Love we have fore our mother and father

Love we can but hope meen our father lovers us

Love returned , so our father becomes our dad

Love from our mother comes as standard

Love fore some woman mothers love fore the baby child not so

Love fore childhood friends first love we experience as we grow up

Love Shakespeare understood rather well in Romeo and Juliet

The play was more important than boy meets girl that was the side story

Love of friends mates pals mockers buddy's et al

PART TWO

Romeo had friend he'd had who shard the same breast's of the same wet nurse

They side by side had falt in battles against the same gangs both shed blood

Fore each other

Love between them was strong bloody strong gay love homosexual love

Love of friendship thats all that counted fore Romeo

Love from crib to then had changed fore Romeo

Love of two girls he'd met Juliet was more pressing more conniving

Than her love rival , some call Juliet a bitch , well every one has an opinyan

Love coursed Romeo to prove his love fore his mate , his friend were as strong

As ever it had been and would ever be

As we all know Romeo and Juliet died as did others all in the name of love

I have digress some what as is my wont

PART THREE

My father , my dad my old mate , dad loved me to call him mate

He had to loves one was a German woman he me met when he was in the R N

Dad was posted to Kiel the war was over evidence of the war was all around

Dad was asked to supply booze fore the mess a party had been planed

Well dad as he was a Williams he were called Bungy in the navy

Bungy went a sure having no idea what was to do

He stood around the corner from his boat it were an M T B another story

Fore another time

Now where was I oh yes I recall

Well Bungy was stood back slouched against a wall deep in thought

It must of been the only port brick wall still standing

Anyway , he heard a woman's voice saying ''good evening Tommy ''

Yes I know I know she should of said ''good afternoon , Jack ''

Now look who's telling this story me or you?! , strewth , and Betty Martin

'' Good afternoon Miss ''

Bungy ask '' your out kind of late love ''

They got to chatting she spoke English rather well

Anna as Bungy soon found out , dad was like that could talk to any one

'' Ja '' in a none committal kind of way

'' Why are you a lone Tommy? ''

'' I'm a Jack '' '' as in a jolly Jack Tar '' '' I'm in the navy so were all Jacks ''

'' Just call me Dave , make life easier that way that way ''

As they got to talking , trust was established between the two

Bungey found him self explaining why he was stood by the only wall left standing

In Kiel

She had asked me fore a cigaret he gave her four , she put them a way

One thing led to another , she Anna , would see about getting him a few bottles

Fore the boats party OK , the boats piss up

Dad , Bungy would give her cigarets tins of corn beef and other food in

Exchange

The set a time , Bugy went back to boat , his ship mates asked '' well Bungy ''

'' What about the booze? '' Bungy told them all about Anna , much commant

Made sexual manner , Bungy felt rather offended on Anna's behalf

Well Bungy duly collected the cigarets tins of corn beef with other food from the

Stores

With it all Bungy went down the gangway steeped assure to find Anna waiting fore

Him with the booze , wine , champagne , brandy and of course , snaps!

I'm feeling rather tipsy just writhing about it!

Bungy was rather empresst , told her to wait 'I'll be right back , love ''

Back on bourd he Bungy dashed ,'' come on lads more fags more cans more grub''

One look at what Bungy had brought aboard already soon had the crew

Including the officers soon produced the aforementioned was soon on deck

Bungy hot footed it to Anna , who was happy to see her Jack festooned with

Goods more than she had been hoping fore

Bungy walked Anna back home as they walked they talked

Anna sullenly was full anger , Anna pointed to men with out arms , hand's others

With legs or feet cut off

'' Fucking Hitler '' , Bungy was shocked by Anna's use of ship's language

Even though he had heard woman on the factory floors before he joined up

But to hear Anna using such words with such power in her voice was well

Shocking!

'' That's what Hitler did '' '' My father was in Canada on touring , performing

when the war started ''

'' I was trapped hear in Germany '' '' I could not get out ''

Anna and her father were entertainers Anna plaid the accordion rather well

During The War , she was asked to perform entertain the army Anna refused

'' It was all I could do my only way to get back at Hitler and the NAZI's ''

Anna was in tears as she told Dad about the war in Germany ,

Anna pointed to the woman selling them self's fore cigarets and a loaf of bread

It was then dad fell in love , a love that was to last till dad died

Then one day Anna told dad '' look Dave I have to goo , look fore my

Family '' '' they live in the East , the Russian zone '' so they had to say

goodbye

Well I could not stop asking me dad '' did ever get beyond kissing her,dad ''

Not fore the wont of trying , son '' ''Anna said NO so no it was ''

Why did you not jump ship , the war was over ,you had did your bit ''

'' You should of goon affter her ''

'' No Ken '' , '' me father would not of understood ''

PART FOUR

Later when dad was home on leave , he took his father fore a point

At the Labor Club , they got to talking about Germany , dad's father

Hard served in the last war , so was disinclined to say any thing good

About The Germans , now my dad , kind of got a bit angry

Well he loved a German lass affter all dad pointed to a ring on his finger

'' Well , dad '' '' see that ring on my finger '' '' well I'm engaged to a German

Girl '' dads father almost choked on his beer , he was not a happy chappy

It has to be said

PART FIVE

Well dad met a woman , who was to be my mother , me mum

But all the time Anna was not far away in his thoughts

He keep her pitcher close so he could look in to her eyes and think

Of her and what could of been

All about love the three parts of this work , no wonder

Some say LOVE is a four letter word

A precious story Ken and one which I am so glad you have told. Your Dad sounds as if he was a special man. During the war my family were under the rule of the Germans, my mother was only a little girl but the memories stayed with her - I have not really written much on the subject - Your fathers Anna reminded me of friends we had years ago. Another woman called Anna, her father was a respected professor at a university in Germany, who opposed the Nazi rule - first of all they fled to a remote part of Germany as he was persecuted and there whole family. They eventually made it out of Germany and got to Switzerland. - So many sad stories. Thank you Ken for this :-)

A beautiful and loving story Ken . . . certainly sad in its way but also redeeming and transfiguring, as so many war-time stories were then. I envy your knowing so much about your father, and more than that, or because of that, the love you shared, and still do.
