Sideroads

I rant and I judge in logical and harsh words
drawing a long and thick line between their actions
and myself

But we both know
we've balanced along that line
dipped our toes in

those roads
we fear

and abhor

Alternatives not excluded
from our theories
and minds

But instead of jumping in head first
and swimming in it with twisted joy and perfect logic

We feel how it numbs
sickens
us to our core
causing our hearts to cringe from the taste

of those dark and dreary waters
pouring down those paths

that can never be called love

Morning Star
Excellent poem. Really beautiful in its depth of expression of the paths we try and pursue, even if only in the mind, that are absent in our hope gathering of love.

I really liked your poem.

Enjoyed this write immensely....and for sure, there is no "perfect logic" in "love"
