Knowledge Thirst

Will someone please explain to me

Explain and make it plain to me

Of the many ‘what’s’ and ‘why’s’ and varied ‘wherefores’

Not knowing things just keeps me terse

You see, I have this knowledge thirst

For those many ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ and varied ‘therefores’

I’d like to know what’s high and low

And what it takes to make things grow

A “know it all”? I’d promise not to be it

But with promises can one expect

The promise given will be kept

Not knowing, I can’t really guarantee it

Almost a tongue twister this. Well for me anyway. As always another adroitly written text and a pleasure to read. :-)

Nicely done, Stan. The poem's subject is good, and the rhyme scheme is very interesting.
