just a thought

Wouldn't it be nice...

Wouldn't it be nice...
to have someone think the world of you.

Watch you breathe as you softly sleep.
Lift you up, with a love so deep.

Run her fingers through your hair,
And whisper in your ear,
When she knows you're not aware.

Hang on to every word you say
Gaze into those eyes of yours,
and never for a moment look away.

Dance with you, to slow music so sweet
When she knows
You've got ten left toes on two left feet.

Cuddle up in your arms
As you sip coffee on a rainy day.
Read you a book and make all your worries wither away.

Hold your hand so tight
When you're walking in a park or crossing a busy street.
Kiss you sumptuously and make your life complete.

Go camping with you
Because you don't know how to cook.
And then hug you around the fire,
pretending she's seen a spook.

Tell you that she loves you
And mean every word she'll ever say.
Wouldn't it be nice...to have someone love you that way.

You have never dated American women... .sorry had to get that out of my system. Great poem really well written. Almost too optimistic, but then I am jaded and old.
" Dance with you, to slow music so sweet
When she knows
You've got ten left toes on two left feet. "
That is the best line by far though in the piece. It is good to have hope.

honestly? sounds like a mom.

a nice view of love, but almost too nice. the only part that conveyed "passion" was the sumptuous kiss....

where are the nails scraping on the back, the burnt dinners that you'll pretend to like anyway or argue, the pushing of buttons, the fiery moments instead of just the campfire?

it's good, and i like the bit about the dancing and the toes... i just think it doesn't quite sum up love.
