Hollow Out(a co-write with John Ashleigh)

If the rain under my coat was the sea and
my heart a sunken boat would the empty
flare gun in my hand be a part of me?

If I were sinking into the abyss and
my mind were as dark as the speechless void
would the failures of my life be resolved?

If I am the flare gun

where do you want me to aim?
Where shall I send you to?

If I were running from the unknown,
with my hands bound within helotry,
Could I survive the rivulet of life?

Listen to me:

A shooting star
A visible path
Is not what
we can be
what we
were
or
Who I become
Who you become
While we enter
each other's heart

Liked the imagery and although there were 2 forms it flowed well. Lots of good phrases, this one especially resonated with me. "Could I survive the rivulet of life?" Really nice write guys.

It was definitely worth the wait, your partnership has worked brilliantly. I particularly enjoyed the first stanza and the content and form of the final stanza. The rivulet of life....I like that, enjoyed.
