the last dance

on our world
floating gently in the cosmos
nurturer of the only life forms we know
humanists weep in despair
they no longer dance beneath the stars
nor embrace by the light of the moon
no longer discuss theories
(science and philosophy long since banned)

moronic metaphysics
deformed language and crippled concepts
leave burning vapour trails
across the child's unprotected mind
spreading the plague
from Jerusalem
from Bethlehem
from Mecca
from Lhasa

armed with delusions of everlasting truths
acolytes hunt unbelievers
crucify them in their thousands
on crosses built with religious fervour
the open society is now closed

I sit in shame gazing at the burning sky
mankind exterminated
in the name of god

grizzedram
Stark. I hope it does not come to pass. I choose to believe it won't. But I can easily see it happening. One of the reasons I chose to go into education.
