Love gone

Up to this day I felt,
your love gave me strength,
gave me hope.
You were the beacon, the ray of light,
in the bleak darkness I was engulfed in.
Every single day, I used to come home,
to your love.

Your heart sheltered me and held me safe.
Until the day when everything shattered.
My heart, my soul and your love.
Disgust marring your features,
you cast me away as if I never happened in your life.
Disbelief tainting my features,
I watched as you turned away from me,
distancing yourself from something you loathe hitherto,
your love disappearing as if it never was,
your eyes leaving me cold.

I thought that if you really love someone,
you never give up till the end,
no matter what trouble arises,
no matter how difficult the journey.
Alas, you chose yourself over me,
true love is sacrifice indeed.

How can I beg you to love me again,
how can I tell you that without you,
am nothing.
Everything I held dear has been snatched from me,
and now you too.
My reason for living is very obscure now,
I just want to slip away
in a void where I will never see the light again.
