Yesterdays Garden

In yesterdays garden
I tended the shrubs,
collected the roses
whose petals
they'd shed.

My world was serene
with manicured lawns,
not a tree out of place
or a bed left
unturned.

In yesterdays garden
by the old sycamore,
I saw your hand brush
through the leaves
on the floor

and my idyll was ruined
from a breath
on the air,
in yesterdays garden
with no one
to share.

shells
An air of beauty, loss and loneliness, a passing fragility, much enjoyed.

It is a beautiful piece. The way you connected the two worlds of past and present is just amazing. It clearly depicts the pain of losing things, those thing which used to be with us someday. I really liked it.

A ripple stirs the veil of serene meditation
Somewhere a leaf shaped thought
Drifts through the garden,

Could hear a musical air playing Melancholy's
wistful music within. :-)
