Death

Being together for so long
creates webs of love and bonds
But when death beckons at the door
There is no choice but to go

There is denial at first
The tears just won't stop
Acceptance makes it's call
At last
The justice of this cycle can be poured into my tea
Still tasting sour
But the lesson I learned
About my love
Those who come down
Have to eventually go above.

It takes more fortitude to write these words, I suspect, than the gentle nature of it implies. Your poems have a quiet, compelling nature.

I am convinced that our hearts can hold love forever. Acceptance after a death is a difficult and bitter pill. You have expressed the feelings very well.
